Reading Logs

All reading logs are printed off Book It.com and if your student loses theirs they can print another one off at home or make their own. This is their responsibility to read 20 min. a day at home. Their October reading log is due Oct. 31 and they will receive their November one. Reading is critical in 3rd grade as they are required to pass reading test to be promoted to 4th grade. They can either pass 5 portfolio test that are given throughout the year or pass their FSA test in April. These all test their reading skills and reading comprehension and these tests are what determines their promotion via the state rules. So point being, reading skills are critical this year. Please encourage your student to read, no matter what they are reading!! I can't stress this enough. This is my first year doing the BOOK It Program to try and encourage more reading at home. Every month when your student returns their reading log they will receive a free personal pizza ticket.
