week of 8/28

This week we are wrapping up our plant unit. We have wrote stories about the magnificent plants we have found on an adventure in writing workshop. We have dissected and planted lima beans and discussed that not all plants need soil to grow. We have also discussed parts of a seed and plant and how they make their own food. We have started discussing invertebrates and comparing them to vertebrates. We will be making edible back bones this week. We explored animal classifications and choose animals to classify. We had a lot of fun doing that!! We have been practicing multiplication and division story problems and how to also multiply coins. We are still struggling with telling time and figuring out elapsed time and hopefully are practicing that as well as our multiplication at home.
