Updates for end of the week
FSA Reading testing is officially done!! Please keep encouraging your student. Remember that this test is just a snap shot of what they have been learning and not always the best measurement. Unfortunately, testing is important, but not the end all be all. Their performance doesn't change who they are as a person. All of these Orcas have grown into independent, selfless, cooperative and helpful people that have already started to contribute to their community and I know I can say I am so proud of their growth this year.
FSA Math testing will be April 11th and April 12th. They will be testing on the apple lap tops for that and practicing next week on how to use them. If you have one at home and would like to give them additional practice you can go to http://fsassessments.org/ to find that additional practice and that will also help them get familiar with using the lap top.
Science Fair is Friday from 9-10. It will be ran a little different than usual. Each student will have a station spot for their experiment where you can walk around and visit their booth. Your student needs to stay with their science board from 9-10. At 10 a.m. we have some visitors from the Mad Scientist Group that will be doing demonstrations for the school. We will still go to the park that afternoon. Thank you again to all the parents who have helped with science fair. The students seem so encouraged and excited about their projects. The purpose was to have fun and learn at the same time and it seems as though they achieved that.
After testing for 2 days we need some humor! This was not from our school, but made me laugh:) Always love creative answers.
