August/September

The Orcas have been learning about Democracy, the election process and the brain and its amazing capabilities. We have built edible neurons, conducted experiments about the human body and also celebrated International Peace Day. We have been reading Freckle Juice in small literacy groups and learned how to summarize the story. We have been working hard publishing in writing workshop and learning how to use commas, apostrophes and quotation marks. In math, we have been practicing, money, how to make change, telling time, elapsed time and started practicing some of our new multiplication tricks we are learning. Any additional practice with any of the above math skills at home would be very beneficial and helpful.
